Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) is a transportation service for people that aren’t in the midst of a medical emergency but require a higher degree of assistance than a taxi or ride sharing service can provide. More specifically, this service is for people who require additional care and attention due to health factors or have limited mobility, such as those in wheelchairs.

No, NEMT is not the same as ride sharing services. NEMT drivers have specialized training. Ready-Ride NC drivers we are CPR & First AID Certified. Additionally, they have specialized training and equipment to help provide for the needs of our passengers. A ride sharing service driver is a random person who is not required to have specialized healthcare training and equipment.

You have three options: 
1) Call 704-584-9674 and speak with our live Dispatcher.
2) Book your ride online.
3) You can request Ready-Ride NC as your preferred transportation with your Case Manager or medical clinic, call us, then we will do the rest.

We typically send out 2 drivers, one to drive and one to monitor patients’ safety and comfort.

If you are private pay client, you will pay on the day of transport. If you have an established account, the credit card on file will be charged. If there is a signed Ready-Ride NC Agreement in place, you will be invoiced as per the terms of the Agreement.

Please make your reservation a *minimum of 48 hours in advance of your appointment.

Yes, this is an option and there is an associated Waiting Fee. If you choose not to have us wait, simply contact us 15-20 minutes prior to your appointment end time and a driver will be dispatched for your return.
